How a Garment Redesign Project Works

At Crafted Threads, redesign work begins with an assessment of the garment and any materials you want to keep. We look at the fabric, structure, wear, and fit goals before suggesting a practical direction for the project.

If the piece can be reworked, we prepare a concept and quote based on the inspection. For redesign projects, approval comes before any additional work, and supplementary materials are quoted separately when needed.

Careful review first, then a clear plan for remodelling or upcycling.

Every project starts with the garment itself, because fabric condition, construction, and available seam allowance shape what can be done.

Our work includes dress and skirt remodelling, shirt and jacket restyling, vintage-garment fit updates, and fabric-reuse accessory projects. Where available, we also try to match original thread and trim, but exact matches depend on confirmed availability.

Turnaround depends on the project scope and workshop schedule, with many redesign jobs completed within a realistic business-day range after approval. Final fitting or finish review is part of the process, so the finished piece can be checked again before collection.
